Rainbow Ski Weekend in Urabandai
@URABANDAI LAKE RESORT
2022.3.12 - 3.13
To start the RAINBOW SKI WEEKEND 2022
Out Asia Travel has been organizing "RAINBOW SKI WEEKEND" in Urabandai, Fukushima since 2015. It all started when the number of skiers in Fukushima was drastically decreasing due to harmful rumors after the earthquake, and Mr. Genta, who was in the sales promotion department at Grandeco Snow Resort at that time (later come out as gay), wished to attract LGBTQ customers, so he joined the LGBTQ International Travel Association for the first time in Tohoku. Out Asia Travel sympathized with his wish and decided to organize a ski tour for LGBTQ people in order to help the reconstruction of Tohoku.
In 2017, we had over 120 participants and it was a great success (Thank you very much to everyone who participated).
From 2019, we have changed the venue and held the event at the more gorgeous five-star Urabandai Lake Resort. In addition to the main building, we also used the luxurious annex "Nekoma Rikyu" to meet the demands of guests who wanted to feel like celebrities.
However, in 2021, due to the COVID-19, we had to cancel the event (it was canceled for the first time).
At the end of last year, when the situation had calmed down, we received many enthusiastic requests to hold the RAINBOW SKI WEEKEND again, and the hotel agreed to do so, so we decided to hold the event. Although we are monitoring the COVID situation, we decided to proceed to hold the event for two days, March 12 (Sat) and 13 (Sun) (In case of unavoidable circumstances such as restrictions or closure of the ski resort, the event will be canceled.)
This time, we will have a lounge party with drag queens and gogo boys at the same banquet hall (Togen) as in 2019 (masks are required and social distance is recommended), and we will not eat and drink in the Japanese-style room as before (if you don't have enough to drink after the party, we recommend you use the bar across the street from Togen).
In this situation, we would appreciate it if you could participate with your understanding.
